Wondering Women Travel Club

This is a wonderful group of ladies who love travelling and getting together to discuss travel.  We usually meet at one of the  cafes off 17th Ave. (Good Earth Cafe, Wave Cafe).  A big group is going to Costa Rica soon, but I wont be joining this one,

In November I will be spending 4 days in Las Vegas at the Platinum Hotel, which is just behind the Bali. I do not have all the details yet, but will probably finalize next week.  www.theplatinumhotel.com

On April 4, 2014 I will fly to Paris and we will take the fast train to villas in the Avignon area where I will be spending 10 or 13 days. Back to Paris after to spend enough time there to see the sites I missed when I was there in 1988..www.provence-france.net

Golfing

Enjoyed a wonderful day of golfing last Thursday, charitable event for Rainbow Society.  The storm caught up with us on our 15th hole, so the dinner buffet was opened early.  Too bad my camera battery was drained, didn't get any pictures.  The Cottonwood Golf and Country Club is beautiful.  Met a group of great ladies who invited me to join their golf league next year. Finally, someone to golf with at my beginner level.

Summer Fun 2013

It's been over 2 months since my retirement date, and I am still adjusting to my new life.  I've had company over the summer, with my sister Aline visiting from Pickering. It's great to get all the sisters together.  Here are some highlights.

I've been wanting to get back into biking, I haven't been for years.  I'm right next to Fish Creek Park, which I hope will be flood-free soon.  There is quite a bit of flood damage there, and it may not be open yet.

Gov't of AB Alumni

Had a wonderful time at Yang Tze chinese buffet restaurant in Deerfoot Mall with Brenda, Ivy, Grethel, Doreen, and Frances.  Three hours later, we had a general idea of what each of us have done since retirement.  I have dubbed this group "The Government of Alberta Alumni" as we all worked together in the former AMHC and are now retired. We hope to make this a regular meeting. Wish I had taken my camera. Next time.
